Pittsburgh man found with 32 grams of crack, police say

State police accused a Pittsburgh man of dealing drugs after 32 grams of suspected crack cocaine were found in his Butler City residence.

Last week, Kashawn L. Goldsmith, 27, was charged with felony drug sales, prohibited possession of a firearm and three misdemeanors including use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Goldsmith was arraigned before District Judge William T. Fullerton and placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $35,000 bond.

According to charging documents, police executed a search warrant at Goldsmith’s apartment Oct. 19.

A plastic bag of marijuana and $307 were found on Goldsmith’s person, police said. In addition, a .38 revolver, three digital scales, 32 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 46 grams of an unknown white powder were discovered in the residence, police said.

Police said Goldsmith claimed ownership of the gun and suspected crack cocaine when taken into custody. According to charging documents, Goldsmith is not permitted to possess a firearm.

Goldsmith will appear before Fullerton for a preliminary hearing Oct. 31.
