The Saxonburg Spartans Youth Football League will have signups from 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 21 and noon to 2 p.m. May 22 at Laura Doerr Park.Players must be between the ages 7 and 12 as of July 31, 2004. Weight restrictions are 95 pounds for ages 7 and 8, 115 pounds for 9 and 10, 135 pounds for 11 and 12.Registration fee is $50 plus an $80 fund-raiser and $20 refundable concession fee. Discounts will be given to families with more than one player. Karns City graduate Carrie Bullman, a member of the Clarion University women's track and field team, finished second in the javelin last weekend in the PSAC West Challenge at Indiana (Pa.) University.Bullman's throw was 139 feet, 1 inch.Knoch graduate Jessica Crouch, a Clarion teammate, threw a 131-3.Provisional qualification distance for the NCAA Division II national meet is 134 feet.Karyn McCready of Slippery Rock University won the event with a throw of 146-9.
