Charles E. Dickey

Charles E. Dickey, 75, of Annadale, Va., formerly of Butler, passed away Feb. 4, after a short illness.

He was born July 27, 1940, in Morgantown, W.Va., to Allen James (A.J) and Mary (Gwynn) Dickey.

He spent his early years in West Virginia.

Charles proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Cambria from 1959 to 1963.

He later completed his education at West Virginia University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in business in 1965. He was a brother in the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Charles enjoyed his career in business management throughout his life.

He was a lover of nature, gardening, the ocean and dogs. Charles was a lay leader and Stephen Minister in the United Methodist Church throughout his life. He was always an active participant in church activities.

Charles is survived by his former spouse, Ann Reed Dickey of Williamsburg, Va.

Charles has two siblings, Jim and (Kay) Dickey of Pensacola, Fla., and the late Marion Bunnell.

He is survived by his two children, Jennifer (Scott) McAnallen of Springfield, Va., and Susan (John) Matney of Williamsburg, Va.; and his grandchildren, Samantha McAnallen and Alexander McAnallen of Harrisonburg, Va.

DICKEY — Services for Charles E. Dickey, who died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, will be in April at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Morgantown, W.Va. Details will be available later.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Capital Caring Hospice in Falls Church, Va.
