Eleanora “Nora” Kummer Shilling, 83, of Butler passed away at her home Tuesday.

She was born in Butler, on Dec. 22, 1929, and was a daughter of the late Herman Jacob Kummer and Ellen Hilliard Kummer.

“Nora” attended Butler High School and she had a passion for horses.

She is survived by a sister, Viola Porter of Butler, two nieces, two nephews and several cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emory “Spike” Shilling, who she married on Feb. 1, 1969, and who passed away on March 23, 2005.
