Residents who think they have the pipes to sing the National Anthem for a state function in January are invited to audition to do so.

The “Oh, Say, Can You Sing“ contest asks individuals or groups of Pennsylvania singers to provide a video of themselves belting out the National Anthem without accompaniment to the state Department of Agriculture.

Finalists will be posted on the department’s Facebook page, and judging will be by reactions to each post (likes, loves, wows.)

Eleven winners with the highest number of positive Facebook reactions will each sing the National Anthem live to open each day of the 2023 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg, which will be held from Jan. 7 to Jan. 11.

The overall winner will sing at the ceremony to open the state Farm Show on Jan. 7.

Winners will receive a free parking pass to the event.
