Grace E. (Hemphill) George
Grace E. (Hemphill) George, 77, of Frazer Township, Allegheny County, passed from this life Monday surrounded by her loving family after a 12-year battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born July 20, 1934, in Cherry Valley, Clinton Township, to the late Henry and Ethel (Brown) Hemphill.
Grace lived in the local area all her life.
She was a 1952 graduate of Tarentum High School and worked at Saxonburg Ceramics as a lab technician for more than 40 years.
Mrs. George was a member of the Bull Creek Presbyterian Church, West Deer Township, where she taught Sunday school for more than 20 years.
She loved flowers and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Newton C. George; her sons, Newton C. (Nancy) George of Frazer Township and Robert A. (Jill) George of Summerhill; her daughter, Geriann (Rick) Tibensky of Frazer Township; her grandchildren, Nicole, Wesley, Hamilton, Carly, Morgan, Zachary, Emmett and Caleb; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Hemphill of Port Republic, N.J., and Delano Hemphill of Natrona Heights; two sisters, Laura Murphy of Marshall, Minn., and Ethel Mae Anderson West Deer Township; and a brother-in-law and sister-in- law, William and Anna Mary Becker from Austin Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Arthur Hemphill; and her sisters, Elender Corpal and Juanita Smith.
<B>GEORGE </B>— The family of Grace E. (Hemphill) George, who died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, will receive friends at 11 a.m. Saturday for a celebration of life service at the Bull Creek Presbyterian Church Social Hall.
