Gladys V. Younkins
Gladys Viola (Pennington) Younkins, 91, of Cadogan-Slate Lick Road, Kittanning, passed away Monday at the Armstrong County Health Center.
She was born Aug. 2, 1921, to Byron Leslie Pennington and Olive Mae (Lewis) Pennington.
She lived in the community for more than 70 years. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Madelyn Bookwalter of Ford City; two grandchildren, Brian W. (Dominique) Bookwalter of Worthington and Brette Bookwalter of Kittanning; two great-grandchildren, William J. Bookwalter and Giana M. Bookwalter, both of Worthington; one brother, Russell Pennington of Fenelton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold F. Younkins; two brothers, Paul R. Pennington and Earl Pennington; one sister, Darlene L. Pennington Umbaugh; and one son-in-law, William R. Bookwalter.
BOOKWALTER — Friends of Gladys Viola (Pennington) Younkins, who died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Kennedy and Blodgett Funeral Home, 253 N. Grant Ave., Kittanning.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jonathan D. Hill officiating. Interment will be in McVille Cemetery.
