Robert W. “Bob” Domhoff, 79, of Evans City passed away Monday in the comfort of his home.

He was born July 9, 1933, in Zelienople and was the son of the late Robert H. and Esther (Stiefel) Domhoff.

Bob graduated from the Zelienople High School in 1951. He married Marlene Peters on June 26, 1958.

Bob was a faithful member of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City. He worked for 34 years in the U.S. Postal Service.

Bob was a handyman who could fix nearly anything to perfection, and spent much of his free time in his garage. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Above all, Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Bob was a past president of the Evans City Lions Club, a life-member of the Evans City Fire Department, a member of the American Legion for more than 50 years, a member of the Harmony Lodge 429, the New Castle Consistory, the Syria Shrine of Pittsburgh and the Shrine Legion of Honor.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 54 years, Marlene (Peters) Domhoff; his two daughters, Marla Bird and her husband, David, of Evans City and Roberta Domhoff of Evans City; his sister, Mae Rausch of Ellwood City; his grandson, Robert John “R.J.” Bird; his sister-in-law, Lucille Wingard of Evans City; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Charles R. Domhoff.

DOMHOFF — Friends of Robert W. “Bob” Domhoff, who passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.The Evans City Lions Club will perform a service at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Masonic Lodge will perform a service at 6:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.The funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 202 Van Buren St., Evans City, with the Rev. David R. Saylor officiating. Friends please meet at the church.
