Ronald Basilone

Basilone

Ronald “Ron” G. Basilone, 62, of Evans City, formerly of Zelienople, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at his home.

Born May 23, 1960, in Beaver Falls, he was a graduate of Seneca Valley High School, and was the son of George Basilone and Roberta Kennedy Basilone of Florida, who are formerly of Zelienople.

Ron was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople, and shared ownership of Basilone Cleaners & Formal Wear in Mars.

He loved his two sons dearly. Spending time with them and attending their sporting events was something that made him incredibly proud. In his free time, Ron enjoyed golfing and cheering on his favorite Pittsburgh sports teams, the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.

Ron was fond of the outdoors, and particularly enjoyed fishing and trips to Alaska to visit his brother, Todd. You could always count on Ron to share highlights of his life, his family and his friends on Facebook — it was his favorite way to stay in touch. Ron took pride in commemorating his esteemed relative, Sgt. John Basilone, a World War II war hero.

Every year at the Lawn Fete at St. Gregory Catholic Church, you could find Ron running the craps table. He spent many years running the table in the company of his father, George, and his Uncle Jack. He also loved his dog, Buddy, his energetic Yorkie mix.

In addition to his parents, Ron is survived by his children, Giovanni and Dominic, residing at home; his brother, Todd Basilone of Alaska; his sisters, Leslie (Steven) Georgiadis of Mars, and Terri (Amit) Basilone of New York; his niece and nephew, Claire Marie and Christopher Georgiadis of Florida; and his former wife, Toni Wright of Zelienople.
