SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University pole vault standout Cameron Daugherty has been named PSAC Male Field Athlete of the Week.

Daugherty set a facility record of 16 feet, 8.75 inches in winning the pole vault at the Youngstown State University Invitational.

Daugherty and his Rock teammates travel to Geneva, Ohio, this weekend for the NCAA Division II Challenge.

University of Illinois-Chicago catcher Alex Jurich and versatile infielder Tyler Detmer will join the Butler BlueSox this summer.Jurich hit .273 with four home runs for Illinois-Chicago last spring. Detmer was an all-region and all-county player for two years in high school before appearing in nine games for UIC last spring.
