Sydney W. Paul
Sydney W. Paul, 73, of Neshannock Township passed away Saturday afternoon at his residence.
Born Aug. 4, 1944, in Butler, he was the son of William T. and Dorothy Myers Paul.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Irwin Paul, whom he married Dec. 2, 1972.
A Westminster College graduate, Sydney went on to obtain his law degree and master's degree in social work at the University of Pittsburgh.
He served his country from 1966 until 1969 during the Vietnam War as a U.S. Marine.
Syd was an independent attorney, who also worked for the Lawrence County Human Services until his retirement.
He held memberships with the New Castle Jaycees and the Masonic Lodge and Shrine, and was the commander of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
He enjoyed extensive travel, especially the opportunity to travel abroad.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Al Roe of Fredericksburg, Va.; one sister-in-law, Gretchen I. Bacco and her husband, Barry, of Monroeville; and two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
PAUL — Visitation for Sydney W. Paul, who died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev.
