Irvin Nail

Irvin Samuel Nail, 81, of Hilliards, passed away peacefully at home on his family farm the evening of Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Irvin was born on March 27, 1941, on the family farm and was the son of the late Ralph F. Nail and the late Ruth A. (Boyle) Nail.

Irvin was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He retired from C&K Coal, and later worked for Hickman Lumber for 10 years.

He attended East Unity Church, and was a member of the Hilltop Beagle Club. He enjoyed running beagles and coon hounds, and loved taking care of his grandkids in retirement.

Irvin is survived by his wife, Edith M. (Blair) Nail, whom he married on Dec. 17, 1965; three sons, Samuel B. (Maria) Nail of Parker, David L. (Janie) Nail of Hilliards, and Daniel C. Nail (Heather) of Hilliards; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Parsons of Scrubgrass Township; one brother, Ralph Nail of Parker; and many nieces and nephews. Irvin was a loving father and grandfather, and was a very hard worker. He will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

NAIL — A celebration of life for Irvin Samuel Nail, who died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, will be held at the family farm on Wednesday.

Arrangements are under the direction of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, West Sunbury.
