'Maybe Love Likes Crazy'

Longtime Butler resident Gary Minner, who recently moved to Tennessee, has written a tale about an “English” boy named Mark Lane and an Amish girl named Katie Byler.

The pair are neighbors, living less than a mile from each other, in this love story set in the mid-1960s in Western Pennsylvania.

Minner lived in Butler for 42 years and owned The Minner Co., a home improvement business. This is his first novel.

“Maybe Love Likes Crazy” by G.R. Minner is available in digital and paperback formats. The 426-page book was independently published.

'Peter's Perfect Pancakes'

A boy enjoys eating pancakes with his family in “Peter's Perfect Pancakes,” a new book by Teresa Gaydosz of Ellwood City.In the children's book, Peter loves pancakes and believes that he has the perfect recipe, complete with butter and syrup. However, everyone's idea of the perfect pancake is different, and he discovers the good in those differences, and the importance of time spent with family and friends.Gaydosz is a retired teacher from the Seneca Valley School District. She taught at Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School.She encourages all children, including her 12 grandchildren, to read and to enjoy the journey in the pages of a book.She is also the author of “The Cupcake Princess.”The illustrator of “Peter's Perfect Pancakes” is Pamela Kate Hoffman, a graduate of the Savannah College of Arts & Design in Savannah, Ga., who also lives Ellwood City.“Peter's Perfect Pancakes” is the second book Hoffman has illustrated.The 32-page paperback, released by Dorrance Publishing, is available in hardcover and paperback formats.
