Dorothy Sangermano

Dorothy A. Sangermano, 91, of Butler died early Tuesday.

She was born on March 17, 1922, in Freedom, a daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Maravic) Kopac.

She was a homemaker, and a dedicated wife and mother. Dorothy, along with her husband, was the retired owner of the former North Main Street Shop n' Save supermarket.

A longtime member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, Dorothy had always showed a great faith and a devotion to Mary, the Blessed Mother, and praying of the rosary.

Surviving are her loving husband for 63 years, Earl Sangermano, who she married Sept. 5, 1949, and her devoted daughter, Cheryl A. Sangermano of Lewis Center, Ohio.

Along with several nieces and nephews, Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

Sangermano — Friends of Dorothy A. Sangermano, who died Tuesday, May 21, 2013, will be received at the Geibel FunERal Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.St. Paul's Catholic Women will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Friday at the church.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations could be made to the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to St. Anthony School for Exceptional Children, now called St. Anthony School Programs, 2000 Corporate Drive, Suite 580, Wexford, PA 15090.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
