Jean Vivian Heasley Morrison
Jean Vivian Heasley Morrison, 87, of Highland Oaks, formerly of Clarion, passed from this life to life everlasting Tuesday evening.
Born Jan. 3, 1925, in Clarion, she was the daughter of George and Vernie (Bennet) Heasley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Jean was a 1942 graduate of Clarion High School and then went to business school in Franklin.
Jean retired from the Owens-Illinois Glass Co., in Clarion in 1987.
Jean was a 74-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion where she taught Sunday school classes and was a member of the Women’s Circle 3 of the United Methodist Women.
She enjoyed bowling, crafts, doing many activities in her church and, especially, spending time with her family.
On July 7, 1944, she married Edson H. Morrison Sr., and he proceeded her in death in September 2000.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Sandra McEntire of Knox; a daughter-in-law, Carol Morrison of Karns City; and four grandchildren, Megan (Jason) Schnabl of Austintown, Ohio, Dr. Alanna McEntire of Clarion, U.S. Army Capt. John (Sarah) Morrison of San Antonio, Texas, and Dr. Eric (Melissa) Morrison of Zelienople. She also is survived by seven great- grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Eileen Heasley of Clarion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by a son, Edson H. Morrison Jr.; a brother, James Heasley; two sisters, Betty Waldron and Joan Thompson; a son-in-law, David McEntire; and a nephew, George Chambers.
MORRISON — The family of Jean Vivian Heasley Morrison, who died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the David C. McEntire Funeral Home, 504 E. Penn Ave., Knox, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Clarion. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Daryl Larsen officiating. Interment will follow at the Clarion Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Clarion.
