Remember the day after Thanksgiving will see Butler's 46th annual Spirit of Christmas parade, featuring fire trucks, marching bands, floats, and the Big Guy himself on Main Street in downtown Butler.

Afterward, Santa will retire to his workshop at the Butler Eagle for free photographs, cookies, hot chocolate and activities.

Saxonburg's 12th annual Holiday Parade will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, sponsored by Saxonburg Business Association.The parade will start at Dinnerbell Square and proceed to Roebling Park.The Knoch High School marching band will play, and prizes will be awarded for the best floats.Strolling caroling will be provided by the Cranberry Bogmiesters. Cookies with Santa will be conducted at the Saxonburg Library.Free horse and buggy rides will be available along with a live nativity presented by Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church.

ZELIENOPLE — Passavant Retirement Community will host its seventh annual Abundant Lights holiday festival Dec. 5.Festivities include the opening ceremony in Scholl Auditorium, a basket auction, carriage rides, music, children's entertainment, a visit from Santa, a miniature railroad display and a Zambelli fireworks display.Proceeds benefit the Benevolent Care Fund.

FRANKLIN — The Venango County Historical Society will host a Christmas House Tour of six homes on Dec. 3, 4 and 5. The Friday evening tour will be from 6 to 9 p.m. while the Saturday and Sunday tours will be from 1 to 4 p.m.Programs and tickets will be available at the society's headquarters, 301 S.
