Amy Lee Montgomery, 46, of Grove City passed away in her home Sunday evening.

She was born in Grove City on Sept. 11, 1966, to Robert F. and Sandra L. Buckley Montgomery.

She was a graduate of Grove City High School, Class of 1984, and Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, W.Va., Class of 1988, where she earned her bachelor's of science in nursing.

Following college, she began the first 18 months of her career in nursing at Allegheny General Hospital, and in 1990 she joined the staff of United Community Hospital, now Grove City Medical Center, where she has been a registered nurse for the past 23 years in recovery and ambulatory care.

Amy was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where she often was a liturgist for Sunday worship. She enjoyed family time, scrapbooking, traveling, especially going on cruises and spending time with her two nieces, who she greatly adored, Morgan and Emma. She was an avid Duke and Penn State fan.

She is survived by her parents, Bob and Sandra Montgomery of Grove City; one brother, Alan Montgomery and his wife, Amy Lynn, of Seven Fields, Cranberry Township; two nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glenn and Marjorie Buckley and Lew and Catherine Montgomery.

MONTGOMERY — Visitation hours for Amy Lee Montgomery, who passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, with the Rev. Howard Greenfield, senior pastor, and the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of the church, both officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake, Pa.Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation Central Plant, Floor 3, 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224, or at givetochildrens.org, designate “free care fund and send “in memory of Amy L. Montgomery.”
