Kimberly Hamilton
Kimberly S. “Kim” Perkins Hamilton, 59, of Butler, went to be with the Lord late Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 19, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, following a courageous battle with COVID-19 and cancer.
Kimberly was born in Butler on Nov. 29, 1962. She was the daughter of the late John H. Jr. and Barbara Curtis Perkins.
She was a 1980 graduate of Butler Area High School, and graduated with an associate degree in nursing from Butler County Community College in 1989. Kim later earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Carlow University in Pittsburgh in 2010.
She was employed by St. Francis Hospital, and most recently UPMC in Pittsburgh.
Kim was an avid animal lover, and she was especially fond of cats.
She is survived by her former husband and her companion and caretaker, Ricky Hamilton; her three sisters, Diria “Dee” Swager and her husband, Allan, Barbara Barnhart and her husband, the Rev. Floyd, and Jo Donaldson and her husband, Gerald; a brother, Dana Perkins, and his wife, Sally; a sister-in-law, Rita Perkins; and she was affectionately “Aunt Kim” to her several nieces and nephews, whom she adored. Also surviving are a number of cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith E. Perkins.
HAMILTON — Friends of Kimberly S. “Kim” Perkins Hamilton, who died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Chicora.
A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with her nephew, the Rev. Matthew Perkins, a Free Methodist pastor, and her brother-in-law, the Rev. Floyd Barnhart, a United Methodist pastor, co-officiating.
