Cindie (Smith) Hughes, 62, of Portersville, formerly of Harmony, passed away suddenly Saturday at her home.

Born Nov. 29, 1948 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Stanley Hugh and Sarah “Sally” (Schantz) Smith, who are deceased.

Cindie retired after more than 30 years at Traco/ALCOA in Cranberry Township. She also worked at Walmart in Cranberry Township for eight years.

Cindie enjoyed reading and loved animals, especially her dog, Cooper. Her greatest joy was spending many happy hours with her granddaughter, Brooklyn.

She is survived by her two children, Brian C. Hughes of Kentucky and Bridgette (Hughes) Pacoe with whom she lived; her twin sister, Sandie (Smith) Brown and her husband, Skip, of Zelienople; special aunts, Betty Marie McCaney of Butler, Jean Rape of Harmony, Joyce Wigton of Butler and Rhoda Thompson of Cranberry Township. She is also survived by six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Cindie was preceded in death by an infant son, David Hughes, and an infant sister, Wendie Smith.

<B>HUGHES</B> — Friends of Cindie (Smith) Hughes, who died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
