Karns City athletics honoring Swick

KARNS CITY — The pressbox at Karns City’s Diehl Stadium will be named in honor of Sam Swick Oct. 28 as the Gremlins host Clearfield in their final home game of the regular season.

Swick has been the public address announcer for various sporting events at East Brady and Karns City for 54 years.

Dandy’s Starlette wins for Bresnahan

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Dandy’s Starlette, trained by Nathan Bresnahan of Butler, scored her second straigt victory Tuesday during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

The 3-year-old filly captured a $10,900 Conditioned Pace for her sixth win in 19 starts this year.

Elsewhere on the card, Slippery Rock’s Brady Brown won against 7-1 odds, driving Our G G to victory in a $9,700 Conditioned Pace.
