Sara “Sally” Kelly Krchnak, 83, of Butler died Saturday on the eve of her 84th birthday after a long illness. Sally was lovingly taken care of by her husband in her final years.

Sally was born in Allison Park on May 6, 1928, a daughter of the late Francis and May Kelly.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and the women's golf clubs at both the Armco Country Club and the Butler Country Club, where she could often be found with her sons and husband on the golf course. She also loved to shop and bowl, was an immaculate housekeeper, was famous for her lady locks and nut rolls at Christmas. She loved to attend family gatherings with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, Mark P. Krchnak, who she married Aug. 25, 1956; three sons Mark S. (Amy) Krchnak of Clearfield, Michael (Barbara) of Butler and Matthew (Malinda) Krchnak of Freeport; seven grandchildren, Kristyn (Russell) Berger, Matthew (Becky) Krchnak, Sara Krchnak, Lauren Krchnak, Mark Robert Krchnak, Marie Krchnak and Vincent Krchnak.; one great- granddaughter, Kaylee Krchnak; and one sister, Helen Becker of Chandler, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Francis and Joseph Kelly; four sisters, Theresa Fullen, Mildred McCabe, her twin sister Margaret Bogan and Eileen Merriman.

<B>KELLY</B> — Friends of Sara “Sally” Kelly, who died Saturday, May 5, 2012, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from two to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.The St. Paul's Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday at the church to recite the rosary.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
