Joel Wagner
Joel Avery Wagner, 60, of Butler, passed away at his residence on Oct. 12, 2022.
Born in Butler on Jan. 3, 1962, he was the son of the late Larry E. Wagner and Anna L. Barger McNamara.
He was a graduate of Karns City High School in 1979.
After high school, he spent four years serving in the U.S. Air Force. He served in security forces at Plattsburgh Air Force Base in New York.
Joel graduated with honors and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from the Falk School of Social Work at Syracuse University.
Surviving is his brother, Bradley (Marci) Wagner of Emlenton; his nephews, Alec and Evan Wagner; a great-nephew, Henry Wagner; his special friends, Justin, Tim and Eric; and his stepmother, Barbara Wagner, and her children, Noelle, Lori, Chris, Matt and Allison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra.
WAGNER — A private service will be held at a later date for Joel Avery Wagner, who died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022.
