Since Saturday, city residents have been able to dispose of leaves at a designated area in Butler Memorial Park. The city has issued the following guidelines for leaf disposal.

– Signs will direct users to the designated area, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

– The area will be open through the first week of December, and only the designated area may be used for leaf disposal.

– Leaves must be removed from plastic bags, and no materials used to carry the leaves are to be left at the drop area.

– The area is to be used for disposal of leaves only. Brush, rubbish and garbage are prohibited.

Curbside collection service is provided by the city’s streets department. Residents may call the department at 724-285-8440 when all the leaves have fallen in their neighborhood or for more information.
