Richard F. Harrold, 82, of Petrolia died Sunday at his home.

Born June 17, 1929, in Bradys Bend, he was the son of Harvey J. and Blanche M. (McKinney) Harrold.

He married Mary Lou (Myers) Harrold on May 31, 1953.

He was a veteran, having served during the Korean War with the 3rd Division D Company 10th Engineering Battalion, U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged with a rank of SFC. He was the recipient of an Occupation Medal-Japan, a Korean Service medal with two bronze service stars and a bronze star medal.

Richard dearly loved his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He and his wife enjoyed bicycling along the Allegheny River.

He was employed by the Local 323 Labor Union where he was a 55-year member.

He was affiliated with the Karns City Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Harrold of Petrolia; three daughters, Debora Todd and her husband, Gary, of Twinsburg, Ohio, Peggy Harrold of Petrolia, and Ricki Robinson and her husband, Brent, of East Brady; four grandchildren, Ashlee (Darrin) Mong, Heather (Steven) Rush, Richard Todd and Nicholas Robinson; a great-grandson, Trevor Mong; a step-great-granddaughter, Delaney Rush; a sister, Violet Brown of Indiana, Pa., two brothers-in-law, Benny Myers of Chicora and Terry Myers and his wife, Bonnie, of Butler; and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Karen Hiles; a sister, Ruth Harrold; a niece, Millie Kennedy; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Brown.

<B>HARROLD</B> — Friends of Richard F. Harrold, who died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home,</B> 105 Fourth St., East Brady.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Pascoe, Amedisys Hospice Chaplin, officiating. Burial will be at Bradys Bend Cemetery, Bradys Bend.
