Marlene Mussig

Marlene Mussig, 75, of Zelienople, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on Sept. 8, 1945, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Julian C. Mussig and Lorraine Schomburg Mussig.

Marlene was well known in Zelienople for riding her scooter around the borough streets. She worked as a floral designer at the family shop, Mussig Florist, on Main Street, up until the day before her stroke.

Marlene was also a member of the English Lutheran Church, and belonged to the Zelienople Lions Club, where she served four times as president and attended conferences on behalf of the organization.

Marlene absolutely loved dogs, and cherished the time she spent with her furry companions, Tippy, Shadow and Amber. Above all, Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Gary Knauff Jr. (Heather) and Andy Knauff (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Krystal Hippert (Zachary), Michael Knauff, Matthew Knauff (Kassidee Forinash) and Alexander Knauff; her great-grandchildren, Layla and Ava Hippert; her brother, Julian E. “Sonny” Mussig (Carole); and her sister, Carroll M. Cooper (Tony).

MUSSIG — Friends and family of Marlene Mussig, who died Saturday, May 29, 2021, will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

Marlene will be laid to rest with her parents at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.

If desired, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Zelienople Lions Club.
