Adams Halloween parade planned

ADAMS TWP — Township parks and recreation director Haley Zaliponi laid out plans for the upcoming Halloween parade at a board of supervisors meeting Monday night.

The parade will be Oct. 29 at the Adams municipal building, with check-ins beginning at 2 p.m. in the lobby and the parade stepping off at 3 p.m.

The parade will be led by local emergency services and will end at the Rotary Pavilion with treat bags for participants.

The costume contest portion of the event will be slightly different than previous years, Zaliponi said. Judging for costumes will begin before the parade starts instead of along the parade route. Awards will be given at the end of the parade.

Families can call the Parks and Recreation Department at 724-625-2221 or email parksandrec@adamstwp.org to register for the parade.

Three Degree Road updates postponed again

Also Monday, the board decided to once again table the second phase of updates to Three Degree/Valencia Road due to an ongoing process of soliciting additional funds.

At a previous meeting, board vice chairman Ron Shemela explained that the bids the township initially received to finish the project were higher than expected. Township officials have been meeting with representatives from PennDOT to discuss further funding compensating for inflation.

“It’s going to happen; it’s just a little bit later than we assumed, because of the costs of everything,” Shemela said.
