Injured goose saved by Butler Twp. police

An injured goose caused a fowl problem this morning for Butler Township Police Sgt. Jim Sasse.

The goose possibly suffered a broken wing and or a broken leg and was unable to get off busy Route 8 south around 7 a.m. just north of the Greater Butler Mart.

Sasse utilized a traffic cone to cover the bird's head long enough so he could grab the goose and safely get it off the road.

The officer suffered no bites from the frightened goose.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission was called and a conservation officer was on his way to take further care of the goose.
