Helen M. Harter, 79, formerly of Butler, died Tuesday afternoon at the LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Adams Township on Aug. 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Setta Frederick Davidson.

Helen had been a cook at Howard Johnson's in Allison Park and at the YMCA Camp.

She was a member of the Old Union Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are four sisters, Jane Kosinski (Ed) of Valencia, Nancy Bodema of Penn Township, and Gloria Davidson and Bonnie Sue Everly, both of Mars; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Harter; five brothers, Ralph, Chris, Robert, Donald and James Davidson; and three sisters, Vera Fester, June Davidson and Betty Raith.
