Felony drug charge withdrawn against incarcerated man
SAXONBURG — Felony charges were withdrawn Wednesday for an Allegheny County man who police said had drugs in his Bear Creek Road home.
Tyrique Craighead, 29, who now lives in McKees Rocks, appeared before District Judge Sue Haggerty via a video cellphone call regarding a case filed by state police in 2020.
Craighead initially was charged with felony drug sales and misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia after police said 20 full stamp bags of heroin and fentanyl, 99 empty pill capsules, a digital scale and $30,000 were found in his home.
Assistant District Attorney David Beichner asked Haggerty to withdraw the felony charge, and defense attorney Anne Marie Mancuso said Craighead would plead guilty to the misdemeanor charge.
“We’re asking for time served in light of the circumstances,” she said.
Craighead is in state prison in Forest County, serving a sentence from an unrelated case in 2020.
