Frederick M. Beight Jr.

Frederick M. Beight Jr., 91, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Zelienople, passed away Thursday afternoon at the Concordia Hospice in Cabot.

Born June 27, 1925, in Beaver Falls, he was the last child of the late Frederick M. and Nona Beight Sr.

He was a member of the Live Out Baptist Church in Zelienople.

Fred worked for the postal service, delivering mail for 33 years in Zelienople and Fernway.

He served his country during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 474, Zelienople.

Fred was a member of the NRA. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia B. Reffner Beight on Dec. 31, 1991; and his second wife, Yvonne J. Hogan Palmer Beight on June 25, 2013; three sisters; one brother; and one stepdaughter.

Fred is survived by three sons, Michael (Cindy) Beight of Minerva, Ohio, Scott (Yvonne) Beight of Bailey, Mich., and David (Irene) Beight of Slippery Rock; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five stepdaughters; one stepson; and numerous stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

BEIGHT — Friends and relatives of Frederick M. Beight Jr., who died Thursday, March 30, 2017, will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 114 W. Spring St., Zelienople.
