May K. Lutz

May K. Lutz, 92, of Zelienople passed away Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born Jan. 30, 1923, in Zelienople she was the daughter of the late Walter and Kathryn (Shanor) Zeigler.

May graduated from Zelienople High School. She was a faithful member of St. Peters Reformed Church since 1941. She belonged to the church's Alpha Gradale Sorority and served as the adviser to the Beta Gradale Sorority. May was an integral part of the community, which was evident through the multiple organizations she worked with. She was a former President of the Women's Fellowship and served as the chairwoman for the Butler County branch of the American Cancer Society.

In addition, she volunteered at the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She was the grand marshal of the Zelienople 4th of July parade in 2013 and was a lifelong member of the Zelienople Historical Society, where she also served on the board.

In her free time, May enjoyed oil painting. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two loving children, Carla (David) McCoy and C. Craig Lutz; her three grandchildren, Tracy (James) Tobin, Shane (Johanna) McCoy and Margo (James) Schall; her six great-grandchildren, John Paul Lutz Tobin, Abby Schall, Julia Schall, Anna Schall, Maddie McCoy and Tommy McCoy; and her sister, Rose Ellen Dickey.

In addition to her parents, May was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl E. Lutz, who passed away on May 17, 1999; her daughter-in-law, Maureen Lutz; and her brother, Blair Zeigler.

LUTZ — The family of May K. Lutz, who died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, will welcome friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave, Zelienople, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.If desired, memorial donations may be made in May's honor to the St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E Grandview Ave, Zelienople, PA 16063 or to the Zelienople Historical Society, 243 S.
