Ronald G. Cepek

Ronald G. Cepek, 71, of Harmony passed away Wednesday while under the care of the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born Oct. 21, 1946, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late George F. and Doris N. Cepek.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 25th Infantry. He was in communications in Da Nang and an aerial gunner with the 17th and 1st Air Cavalries. His numerous military commendations include three Bronze Stars for valor, the Combat Infantry Badge, Aircrewman Wings, Air Medal with 11 Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with six stars, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

He served with integrity on the Zelienople Police Force for over 20 years.

Ron loved his family and his many friends. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Ron leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Sherry L. Cepek of Harmony; his children, Jennifer Cepek of Avalon and Ronald W. (Jenn) Cepek of Beaver; his stepchildren, Rachel Gallagher of Harmony, Ryan (Ray Jay) Gallagher of Washington D.C., and Tyler (Nicole) Gallagher of Beaver Falls; his three grandchildren, Moses, Nora and Charlotte; and his former wife, Kathleen (Rich) Katella.

CEPEK — Friends of Ronald G. Cepek, who died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.The funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with Pastor Gail Davis officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's honor may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
