David G. Wise, 78, of Portersville passed away Thursday.

He was born Jan. 31, 1939, in Butler, to the late Ray F. Wise and the late Julia Sapor Wise.

David worked as a furnace tender at the Hill Top Silicon for Butler Armco. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. David enjoyed photography, fishing and bowling.

David is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Wise, whom he married Nov. 20, 1964; two sons, Kim L. Gilliland and his wife, Kimberly, of Harmony and Stephen P. Gilliland and his wife, Diane, of Mocksville, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Heidi (Gordon) Alert, Crystal (Joshua) Takosky, Brock (Rebecca) Gilliland, Stephen (Amanda) Gilliland, Joshua (Samantha) Gilliland, Adam Cloer and Alex Cloer; 11 great-grandchildren, Zhaun Nobie, Zakyla Nobie, Molly Gilliland, Emily Gilliland, Leah Takosky, Elizabeth Takosky, Caleb Gilliland, Karter Gilliland, Kiptyn Gilliland, Lucas Gilliland and Avery Gilliland; and a number of nieces and nephews.

WISE — There will be no public visitation for David G. Wise, who died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017. Private funeral services were conducted at the family’s convenience. Burial was at the Butler County Memorial Park.

Memorials are suggested to the donor’s favorite charity.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home in Butler.
