Donald Ellis “Huck” Angles
Donald Ellis “Huck” Angles, 72, died on Saturday suddenly at his residence.
Donnie, known as “Huck,” was born April 25, 1945, in Grove City, a son of Ellis and Gertrude Knotts Angles.
He was a Slippery Rock High School graduate. Donnie worked for 32 years as a pipe fitter and crew boss at Youngstown Water Department, retiring in 2011.
He also was a professional musician for almost 40 years. Country music was his passion. He was one of the best guitarist in the area, where he played with several country-western stars.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam era, where he worked in the Nuclear Weapons Training Center.
Donnie enjoyed music, animals, and working on the family farm.
His granddaughter was the twinkle in his eye and his laughter after a good teasing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, the former Vera Dietrich, whom he married Nov. 27, 1976; his children, Amanda Angles of Hubbard, Ohio, Samuel and Brent Angles, both of Hubbard, and Sonja Jean Angles Madison of Slippery Rock; three grandchildren, Weslynn Angles, Joshua Madison and Jordan Madison; and one brother, Allen (Trudy) Angles of Masury, Ohio.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Lina Knotts; aunt and uncle, Irene and Phil Griffith Musolino; uncle, Cephus Griffith; and aunt and uncle, Denzel and Mereda Offutt.
ANGLES — Services for Donald Ellis “Huck” Angles, who died Saturday, June 3, 2017, will be held 6 p.m. Friday at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, Ohio.Friends and family will be received before the service, from 4 to 5:45 p.m. Friday.
