The Butler High School all-school play, "Epic Proportions," a Broadway comedy, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the senior high auditorium.

Set in the 1930s, "Epic Proportions" tells the story of brothers Benny and Phil, who go to the Arizona desert to work as extras in the Biblical epic film "Exeunt Omnes," directed by the mysteriously reclusive D.W. DeWitt.

All 3,400 extras are supervised by Louise Goldman, who divides them into groups by asking them to count off by four. While Phil's experience as a "three" includes feasts and parades, brother Benny is a "four," meaning he is included in all 10 plagues.

Both brothers fall in love with Louise, heading toward a brother vs. brother rivalry typical of epic movies.

The cast includes: Nick Furar as Phil, Charlie Eberle as Benny, Sarah Horner as Louise, Jon McCreary as Narrator/DeWitt, Gretchen Geibel as Extra 1, Sarah Hinterlang as Extra 2, Megan Geibel as Extra 3, Kyrie Lockhaiser as Jackie, Taylor Smith as Shelly, Michael Alexander as Octavium/Roman General, Nathan Rebmann as Slavemaster/Executioner, Sarah Bishop as Queen, Lydia Anthony as Cochette and Olivia Pascazi as Brady.

Extras are Samantha Barnhart, Liz Brady and Carly Ratica.

Student stage managers are Zach Tomasovic and Alex Barnhart. Director is Dale VanLaningham. Technical directors are Robert Harrison and David Smith. Costumes are by Audrey Eberle.
