A concert featuring Peter Yarrow of the folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary will benefit the PEAL Center (Parent Education and Advocacy Leadership Center) and Yarrow's nonprofit foundation Operation Respect. The show is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Four Points by Sheraton Pittsburgh North, Cranberry Township. His songwriting has produced some of the most moving songs Peter, Paul and Mary recorded, including "Puff, the Magic Dragon," "Light One Candle" and "The Great Mandala." Guthrie Arts Guild will host baritone Thomas Octave in concert at noon Friday in the Guthrie Theatre in Olde Town Grove City. Octave, a conductor and baritone soloist, will present a varied program featuring operatic selections from Donizetti, Gounod and Menotti. As well he will pay homage to several American composers including Copland, Bernstein, Porter, and Rogers and Hammerstein. He will be accompanied by pianist Gabriel D'Abruzzo. Amateur singers and dancers of all ages will perform in the St. Barnabas Charities version of "American Idol" and "Dancing with the Stars." <B>"An Acoustic Evening"</B> is planned for Friday at the Carnegie Science Center, One Allegheny Ave., North Side. Guitarists Ken Bonfield, Steve Davison and Tim Farrell will play guitar music ranging from country, blues, ragtime, and folk, to traditional Celtic, jazz, classical, contemporary, and even rock covers. Proceeds will benefit environmental education programs at the Science Center and the Allegheny Sierra Club's Water Committee.
