Charles C. Smetana, 58, of Valencia, passed away Tuesday.

Chuck was a 1976 graduate of Hampton High School and went on to earn his degree from Art Institute of Pittsburgh. A talented artist, he was a longtime photographer and worked in the printing industry for many years.

He was a longtime member of John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM. He loved fishing, camping and hiking with his children and dancing with his wife, Mary Beth.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Beth McCauley Smetana and the late Marie Rietter Smetana; dear son of Bertha Spiegel Smetana and the late Edward F. Smetana; loving father of Ashley (Philip) Johnson, Adam (Molly Higgins) Smetana, Brian Eisenreich, Eric (Kim) Eisenreich, and Kristen Isles; brother of Leonard (Pamala) Smetana, Richard (Kara) Smetana, the late Edward (Kathleen) Smetana Jr. and the late Barbara (Sam) Clarke; and proud grandfather of Riley and Philip II Johnson and Noah Smetana.

SMETANA — Friends of Charles C. Smetana, who died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.A mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Catherine of Sweden Church with the Rev. Steven Neff, celebrant.
