John Goda Jr.

John Goda Jr., 89, of Cabot passed away on Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born Jan. 29, 1929, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Tupta Goda.

John served in the U.S. Army in Korea.

He had worked at AT&T and Bell Telephone as a supervisor, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver.

John was an avid golfer and also enjoyed bowling.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Ellen “Roe” Goda, whom he married Feb. 15, 1958; three sons, John M. (Amy) Goda of Bradenton, Fla., Matthew E. Goda of Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii, and Stephen A. (Tammy) Goda of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Margaret Ellenberger of Pittsburgh, and Sylvia Goda of Pittsburgh; and eight grandchildren Mackenzie, Kyle, Collin, Carson, Madison, Caleb (Sarah), Hannah and Lenya.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Michael Goda.

GODA — Friends of John Goda Jr., who died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert H. Wilson officiating.
