Medical sterilization business coming to business park
CLINTON TWP — A California manufacturer of medical devices is bringing in a new business to the Victory Road Business Park.
BeamOne of San Diego will operate a sterilization business out of a new building next to MEDRAD.
The township supervisors Tuesday night approved the construction of the more than 24,000-square-foot structure, which will face North Noah Drive.
BeamOne will initially fill 16 jobs to man the sterilization plant, which will service other clients as well as MEDRAD.
Jon Kamin, a MEDRAD attorney, said at Tuesday's meeting bringing in BeamOne will save MEDRAD time and money as it will no longer have to drive its products to another location for sterilization.
Drew Johnston, MEDRAD director of facilities, said this morning MEDRAD products currently are taken to various cities, including Chicago and Albany, N.Y., for sterilization.
MEDRAD originally bought 20 acres at the park, initially developing 12 acres.
"We're excited to see the rest of the property developed," Johnston said.
Massaro Properties in Pittsburgh will build and own the new structure. BeamOne will rent the building from Massaro.
