Marian Maxine (Laderer) Hutcheson
Marian Maxine (Laderer) Hutcheson, 87, of Orchard Manor, Grove City, Pine Township, Mercer County, and formerly of Slippery Rock Township, passed away at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Grove City Medical Center.
She was born in Portersville on Nov. 27, 1925, to Joy Oliver Laderer and Anna Louise Barkley Laderer.
She married Jack Edward Hutcheson on May 14, 1948, and he preceded her in death on May 2, 1986.
She was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock where she had previously been a Sunday school teacher and deacon and was active in the Women's Association of the church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Frank P. Cheeseman Unit for more than 60 years, the AARP, and she enjoyed reading.
She graduated from Butler Business College and later worked for the Butler Farm Bureau, now called Agway. She had worked at the First National Bank in Slippery Rock. She was a substitute rural mail carrier for five years at the Slippery Rock Post Office. She served 20 years as elected tax collector for Slippery Rock Township, the Slippery Rock School District and Butler County, retiring in January of 1990.
Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Hutcheson and his wife, Barbara, of Slippery Rock; a daughter, Jody Bond of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Ernest Laderer of Portersville and Harold Laderer and his wife, Doris, of Portersville; three grandchildren, Kimberly McConnell of St. Leo, Fla., Daniel McConnell of Albuquerque, N.M., and Gregory McConnell of Grove City; and a great-granddaughter, SummerLeigh Montaño McConnell of Albuquerque, N.M. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter; three sisters, Ruth Rowe, Eleanor Miller, Alma Jean Humphrey; and a brother, Richard Laderer.

Hutcheson — The family of Marian Maxine (Laderer) Hutcheson, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday.A memorial service will be observed at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. William Mumaw II, pastor of the Center Presbyterian Church, presiding.
