Harry Kenneth “Sky” Gibson

Harry Kenneth “Sky” Gibson, 78, of Cabot passed away Friday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Born Sept. 22, 1937, in Butler, he was the son of Harry Kenneth Gibson and Josephine McKinney Gibson-Atkinson.

Ken served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He retired in June 1999 from Butler Armco Melt Shop, after 39½ years.

He enjoyed hunting and spending time at his camp in Clearfield County, beach vacations at Ocean City, N.J., and Myrtle Beach with family, riding his well-deserved Harley Davidson and time spent with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Kathleen I. Nemoga Gibson, who he married Aug. 5, 1961; two daughters, Karen S. (Jeff) Craig of Chicora and Kimberly J. (Scott) Hughes of Butler; his son, Kenneth J. Gibson of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Zachary J. Hughes of Butler, Zoe A. Hughes of Kissimmee, Fla., and Logan J. Craig of Erie; and his special friends and neighbors, who he considered to be family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his stepfather, Robert Atkinson.
