Carol Ann Porter

Carol Ann Porter, 83, of Jefferson Township passed away Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot surrounded by her family.

Carol was born Sunday, Aug. 18, 1935, in East Brady, to Ernest McKinney and Sidney Marie Geary McKinney Porter.

Carol graduated from Har-Brack High School, Class of 1953.

She worked as an inventory manager at Air Products in Creighton.

Carol grew up in East Brady and spent a short time in Allison Park as a young girl, but spent the majority of her adult life in Tarentum before moving to Concordia in 2012.

She was married on Oct. 10, 1960, in Virginia to Robert Edward Porter, but divorced in 1972. He was the father to all of her children.

In addition to working at Liberty Mirror in her 20s, Air Products as an adult, and at the Valley News for a short period, she worked with her mother, Sidney Porter, at Sid's Ceramics for over 20 years, until her mother reached her upper 70s and retired. Sid's Ceramics was run out of the family home.

She enjoyed ceramics, gardening and computers.

Carol is survived by her children, Gayle (John) Williams of Saxonburg, Sharyn (Ron) Rennick of Port Republic, Md., and James (George Scott) Porter of Orlando, Fla.; and her eldest brother, Wesley (Anne) McKinney of Sharon, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Larry McKinney; and a sister, Edith Phelps.

PORTER — Family and friends of Carol Ann Porter, who died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, are invited from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday to the ROBERT PETERS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev.
