Martha J. Emerick
Martha J. Emerick, 68, of Butler passed away Monday at UPMC Presbyterian.
Born Dec. 7, 1944, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Albert Parker and Martha Jane (Lewis) Michele.
She worked as a nurse's aide for the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, the Saxony Health Center and the Outlook Pointe Commons.
She was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church and the Saxonburg Women's Club. Martha enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, crafts, walks with her friends and spending time outside watching birds.
Surviving are her loving husband, George B. Emerick, who she married June 16, 1962; her children, Theresa (James) Elder of Butler, Douglas Leroy Emerick of Lima, Ohio, Darla Sue (Gary) Hougg of Kittanning, Lee Ann (Dean) Fain of Petersburg, Ohio, Kathy (Robert) Marks of Russellton and George B. Emerick Jr. of Butler; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her siblings, Robert T. (Sarah) Parker of Renfrew and Anna Pearl of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William Parker, Sandy Honeycutt and Charles Guy Parker, and two grandchildren, Robert Joseph Marks Jr. and Gary Thomas Hougg Jr.
EMERICK — Friends of Martha J. Emerick, who passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Judd officiating.
