Mars girls soccer gets No. 1 ranking

ADAMS TWP — The Mars Area High School girls soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to the recently released United Soccer Coaches’ Fall 2022 High School Girls Soccer Rankings.

The Planets have won three consecutive WPIAL and PIAA championships. They are 4-0 so far this season and are 67-0-12 over the last four campaigns.

BC3 volleyball scores 3-0 sweep

BUTLER TWP — Morgan Jack tallied 24 assists Friday as the Butler County Community College women’s volleyball team won at Penn Highlands, 3-0.

Match scores were 25-13, 25-8, 25-10.

Claire Kile had 10 blocks for the Pioneers while Breanna Reisinger had 11 kills and four aces, Aslyn Pry eight kills and Madison Raypush 15 digs. BC3 (3-0, 8-2) plays at Penn State Beaver Tuesday night and hosts CCBC at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
