Rizzo

Josh Rizzo, 24, is a new sports reporter for the Butler Eagle.

He will cover sporting events in Butler County.

Rizzo is a 2010 Slippery Rock University graduate with a degree in communication. He was an intern at the Eagle while he was at SRU.

He recently was a sports reporter at the Quincy (Ill.) Herald-Whig.

He also worked at the Kirksville (Mo.) Daily Express, where he won four awards from the Missouri Press Association, including first place in the sports feature category.

He replaces Jason Orfao.

PITTSBURGH — Flynn's Tire Group recently donated $1,680 to Children's Hospital.The donation represents a commitment made by Flynn's to donate $10 for each home run hit by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2013 season. The Pirates hit 168 home runs during regular and post season games.Representing Flynn's in the donation was Joe Flynn III, president, and Anne Flynn, vice president.There are 19 Flynn's Tire & Auto Service stores in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, including one in Butler.Its corporate office is in West Middlesex.

BUTLER TWP — Sandy Nettrour received the 2013 Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants Humanitarian of the Year award at its annual conference in October.The Harmony woman is the neurosurgery and orthopedic service line coordinator for Butler Health System.The PSPA Humanitarian award honors a physician assistant who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to human rights and exemplifies the profession’s philosophy of providing accessible and quality health care to the underserved in a rural community, inner city setting or location outside of the United States.She has been a member of the Operation Walk Pittsburgh Travel Team since 2010, participating in four surgical missions to Central America and two at Butler Memorial Hospital.
