BUTLER TWP — The Pioneer Players of Butler County Community College will present Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Succop Theater.

The stage adaptation by Romulus Linney closely follows the original story and was originally staged by the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre.

The play follows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge as he is haunted by his former partner and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future to show him the way to live a better, more charitable and happier life.

This adaptation, staged in traditional Dickens style, features BC3 students, faculty and staff in addition to several members of the local theater community.

Scrooge is portrayed by Kody Durrett, veteran of Knoch High School productions and current BC3 student.

The three sprits will be played by Pamela Beck as Past, theater director Larry Stock as Present and BC3 student Todd Acre as Future. The cast also includes Mary McGinnis, Kathy Sommers, Maggie Stock, Steve Joseph and Dean Weiland.

The play is directed by Mike Beck and Larry Stock.
