Robert C. Peters

Robert C. “Sponge Bob” Peters, 67, of Butler passed away on Saturday at Chicora Medical Center.

Born Sept. 12, 1951, in Butler, he was a son of the late Harold and Eleanor Craig Peters.

He was employed at Pullman-Standard until it closed in 1982. He then worked as a self-employed painter.

He was a member of the French and Belgium Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Kayla Beth Chandler and her husband, Sean, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Brenda McKruit of Chicora; one brother, Bruce Peters of Butler; one granddaughter, Madilyn Elaine Chandler; several aunts and uncles; several nieces and nephews; and his girlfriend, Pat “Pumpkin” Hilliard of Petrolia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie Hamilton Peters, who passed away Jan. 31, 2009; and his brother-in-law, Ronald McKruit.

PETERS — There will be no visitation for Robert C. “Sponge Bob” Peters, who died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019.

Burial will be private.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Salvation Army, 313 W. Cunningham St., Butler.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
