Elizabeth M. Logan
Elizabeth M. "Bette" Logan, 89, of the Lowrie House, Sterling Village, Butler, formerly of Ridge Drive in Karns City and Apple Road in Fairview, Butler County, passed away at 6 a.m. Sunday at the Lowrie House of natural causes.
She was born in Belah in Toby Township, Clarion County, Oct. 24, 1920, and was a daughter of the late Curtis James Conner and Mamie Virginia Keefer Conner Jordan.
She was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 45 of Chicora, now O.E.S. Chapter 45 in Butler, where she was past worthy matron.
She graduated from the Parker High School, Class of 1938, and graduated from The Butler Business College.
She enjoyed fishing and playing cards and loved the river at Millers Eddy and West Monterrey.
She was the postmistress at the West Monterrey Post Office for 11 years and then transferred to the Karns City Post Office as a clerk for 14 years.
She married Donald E. Logan on Sep. 25, 1942, in Petrolia, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Kay Larimore and her husband, Michael D., of Karns City and Mary Dawn Christie and her husband, David J., of Petrolia; four grandchildren, Alison Perry and her husband, Vance, of Richmond, Va., Andrew Larimore and his wife, Brittney, of Karns City, Carrie Christie of Lower Burrell and Shannon Christie of Petrolia; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Isabella and Madelyn Perry, all of Richmond, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Curtis Conner; and four sisters, Leda Mae Stewart, Beatrice Crawford, Martha Wallace and Helen Lay.
<B>LOGAN</B> — Friends of Elizabeth M. "Bette" Logan, who died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, will be received from 1 until 3 and 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home </B>in Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glea L. Foster, pastor of the Karns City United Methodist Church, officiating.
