BC3 volleyball gets No. 2 ranking

BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Community College women’s volleyball team is off to a 7-2 start this season and enters the second half of the campaign ranked No. 2 among 97 programs in the NJCAA Division III poll released Monday.

This is the highest national ranking in program history.

The Pioneers were ranked No. 3 on Aug. 29 and No. 5 in the preseason poll. The College of DuPage in Illinois is ranked No. 1.

BC3 visits Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in Johnstown on Friday.

Loughry medalist for Pioneers again

BUTLER TWP — Troy Loughry carded a 68 to earn medalist honors for the Butler County Community College golf team during individual competition Monday at Glengarry Golf Links.

Liam Kosior shot a 71 and Freeport graduate Jack Mason a 73 for the Pioneers, who play Friday at Jamestown CCC.
