Joseph Patrick Meshanko Jr.

Joseph Patrick Meshanko Jr., 62, of Dania Beach, Fla., formerly of Chicora, died Wednesday at home following a long battle with cancer.

Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Leah Shelley McElravy Meshanko; his daughters and their families, Tracy and Martin Hamel of Contrecoeur, Quebec, Canada, Trish and Chad Zediker of Greensburg, Pa., Buffie Meshanko and Mathew Dittman of Chicora and Anna Meshanko and Pierre Pinson of Stratanville, Pa.; three siblings, William (Debra McCall) Meshanko of Kingsland, Ga.; Ronald (Charles Jenkins) Meshanko of Washington, D.C., and Kathleen Riccardi of Penn Hills; 11 grandchildren, Vivianne Hamel, Kaitlyn, Ava Jo and Caleb Zediker, Georgia Sweeney, Logan Dittman, Gage and Lylah Bowser, Hunter Weincek and Tycen and Blair Pinson.

MESHANKO — A celebration of life for Joseph Patrick Meshanko Jr., who died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fairview Township Municipal Building, 1571 Hooker Road, Karns City. Casual and Steelers attire requested.A memorial service will also be at 2 p.m. Dec. 9 at 840 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, Fla.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joe Meshanko Jr. Memorial College Scholarship Fund at Karns City High School, 1446 Kittanning Pike, Karns City, PA 16041.Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.hilefh.com.
